Director of Software Engineering

Piper Companies is seeking a Director of Software Engineering to join an enterprise Financial Services company located in Durham, NC

• Minimum of 8-10+ years' experience in brining software solutions to market/production, while directly contributing, deploying and delivering software to production
• Minimum of 8 years' experience in developing software in a 4GL language
• Hands-on experience developing systems that use modern distributed Software Architecture Patterns (e.g. Cloud/Containerization, Streaming, Microservices, Orchestration, etc.)
• Experience building standards-based APIs, using REST, gRPC or alike in Java, The primary language of the team is Java/Python.
• Experience in data manipulation, publication, and movement
• Experience developing cloud solutions and creatively solving problems.
• Experience working with Google Cloud Platform or AWS
