Job Description:

The Role

As a Principal Software Engineer you will own the design and development of data services in platform. This position involves working on an exceptionally talented team whose job is to build platforms and solutions in support of Fidelity's cloud journey. The ideal candidate for this position will have a strong background in building platforms using Java Spark and Python programming language and AWS EMR as the infrastructure for execution. You would be developing lambda, Spark, Python utilities for managing end to end feed flow. They will be able to navigate and mange technical complexities while developing secure and scalable solutions for our customers.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

Strong hands-on experience with requirements gathering analysis, coding, testing, implementation, maintenance, and review.
10+ years of experience developing application interface using Python, Java Spark for converting vendor feeds into business-friendly format.
Develop accelerators for new feed acquisition.
Expertise in handling huge dataset and building accelerators for data comparison reports.
Developing Lambda triggers for event driven and batch driven use case
Participate in code review and define best practice.
Manage branching and deployments without conflicts.
Enhancing framework for future needs and make it a more generic product.
Expertise in building monitoring and alerting tools to report failure or potential performance degradation.
Great customer support skills and adaptable to changing business needs.
Possessing outstanding technical and analytical skills with strong business knowledge.
Working experience within Agile structure (Kanban and SCRUM), great communication, and interpersonal skills.

The Team

FFIO Data Platform Services (DPS) team is focused on providing platforms and capabilities to FFIO. As part of DPS team you will focus on building tools and capabilities to accelerate data acquisition, build data analytics and data movement. You will be a key member of the Platform Engineering team who is responsible for building tools and processes to advance the organization's ability to use the public cloud for solving business problems.
