Back End Developer (PHP/Laravel)

Description Job Title: Back-End Developer (PHP, Laravel, Node.js)Job Type: 6-Month Contract-to-HireLocation: Fully Remote (East Coast Time Zone)Work Hours: Aligns with East Coast business hoursJob Overview:We are looking for a skilled Back-End Developer with expertise in PHP, Laravel, and Node.js to join our team on a 6-month contract-to-hire basis. This role is fully remote, but candidates must be available to work within an EST schedule. You will work closely with our front-end developers and product teams to build and maintain server-side logic, optimize databases, and ensure the seamless integration of various back-end services.Key Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain server-side applications using PHP, Laravel, and Node.js.

Collaborate with front-end developers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic.

Design and optimize databases to ensure robust data management and retrieval.

Build reusable, testable, and efficient code for scalable applications.

Ensure the security and scalability of applications, focusing on performance optimization.

Troubleshoot, debug, and improve existing applications.

Stay up-to-date with new back-end technologies and apply them to projects as necessary.

Requirements

Required Skills:

Strong proficiency in PHP and Laravel framework.

Experience with Node.js for back-end development.

Solid understanding of RESTful API design and implementation.

Experience with SQL/NoSQL databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB).

Familiarity with version control systems such as Git.

Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in a remote setup.

Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate in a distributed team environment.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

Familiarity with front-end technologies (e.g., Vue.js or React) for seamless API integration.

Knowledge of DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines and containerization (e.g., Docker).

Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure is a nice to have.

Familiarity with unit testing and testing frameworks.

Exposure to agile development methodologies.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

3+ years of back-end development experience, with strong expertise in PHP, Laravel, and Node.js.

Proven track record of building and deploying back-end services in a production environment.
