That’s why all our employees enjoy access to dynamic career opportunities across different fields and industries.Are you ready to help us make the future?The Controller - Senior Accountant of Sensing and Safety Technologies (SST) and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), is a contributing team member in the Corporate Controller’s organization, based at Global Headquarters in Charlotte, NC. This role reports directly to the Assistant Controller of the Safety and Productivity Solutions (SPS) segment. This role will be responsible for the SST and PPE general ledgers in the US and Canada and ensure that these entities operate under the highest compliance standards. Primary responsibilities for respective business entities will be to enforce all accounting policies and governance, monitor the design and operation of internal controls, day to day closing activities for these entities, and external financial reporting deliverables. This position will also work with global and regional finance/controllership groups and make sure they comply with all process and month end close requirements. In addition to their SST and PPE responsibilities, this role will work with and support other segment and corporate initiatives, such as other company’s balance sheet reviews, audit support, and working with peer controllers on process improvements. The Controller - Senior Accountant is within the Controllership STAR Program. The STAR Program is a dedicated early career development program for individuals with public accounting experience, designed to provide targeted training, mentorship, exposure to the Executive Leadership Team, and accelerated career progression. The STAR Program is a unique opportunity to transition from public accounting to industry and gain exposure to various financial disciplines and Honeywell processes. In addition, the program is designed provide the opportunity to rotate to other STAR roles or graduate to a manager role within 12 to 24 months.Key Responsibilities, Deliverables & Expectations:

Assist with reviews of key non-standard, judgmental, and complex transactions during the monthly close process

Complete quarterly/annual schedules that feed into Consolidated Honeywell Financial statements

Oversee key monthly account reconciliations, journals, reporting schedules

Lead analytical, balances sheet, and account reconciliation reviews of respective reporting entities globally

Provide accounting oversight and guidance

Respond to financial data and accounting treatment requests from Finance, Business Partners, Project Managers, and Analysts; assist Finance in forecast accuracy initiatives

Liaison with reginal finance centers and corporate controllers’ team to provide consolidated information for the business

Respond to audit requests and inquiries during periodic SOX and compliance testing

Assist in the implementation of new procedures and systems in response to new US GAAP pronouncements and corporate policy changes

Assist in SAP go-live of new business acquisition, entity, or change in the structure

Key Success Factors:

Ability to work in a matrix’s organization structure.

Ability to understand accounting and financial processes related to manufacturing operations and to develop working relationships with all involved.

Ability to manage and drive change across functional lines.

YOU MUST HAVE:

Bachelor degree in Accounting or Finance

2+ years of experience in large public accounting firm

Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or on CPA path
