Experience managing all aspects of accounting: financial statements, general ledger management, cost accounting, budgeting, tax compliance, revenue recognition, and reconciliation

Proven ability to prepare and deliver on-time monthly closing of all financial reports and models

As our Controller you will…Processes & Documentation:

Set, enforce, and maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures

Implement a system of controls over accounting transactions to minimize risk.

Evaluate and manage accounting and internal control systems and accounting software

Organize the documentation of all accounts, statements, transactions, payments, and debts

Accounting Operations:

Plan, direct and coordinate all accounting operational functions

Manage all aspects of accounting, including billing, general ledger, accounts payable, and accounts receivable

Monitor cash and funding balances

Ensure quality control over all financial transactions

Monthly & Annual Reporting:

Manage the accumulation and consolidation of all financial data necessary for an accurate accounting of consolidated business results

Coordinate and prepare internal and external financial statements

Oversee the production of periodic financial reports; ensuring that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles or international financial reporting standards.

Support month-end and year-end close process

Budgeting & Forecasting

Facilitate the annual budget process

Manage location budgets and report significant budget differences to management.

Compliance:

Coordinate activities of external auditors and provide the needed information for the annual audit

Overseeing regulatory reporting and tax filing

Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements.

Research technical accounting issues

Requirements:

5+ years of experience as a controller

Strong understanding of GAAP

Bonus: Previous experience working in finance at a high-growth startup.

Bonus: Expertise in consumer-focused operational business with multiple real estate locations.

Bonus: Familiarity with Stripe or large volume credit card processing is a plus

MBA/MAc and CPA or other relevant qualification is a plus
