Staff Accountant

This Staff Accountant role's duties will require preparing journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, process expense reports and accounts payable, and general ledger reconciliation. In this role, you will perform internal reporting during the monthly close, participate in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules reporting processes. Assist in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation

Intercompany billings, transactions, and reconciliation

Ad hoc reporting and performing special projects upon request

Periodically maintain and reconcile journal entries

Analyze and coordinate a variety of financial data, and report it in a useful and understandable manner

Take part in various department-wide initiatives

Manage reconciliation, depreciation, and fixed asset ledgers

Process Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable

Contribute to the implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP

Prepare complex journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll

Prepare analyses for monthly balance sheets and income statements for management to report on

Thorough experience with month end balance sheet account reconciliations

Perform month end close, journal entries, with minimum supervision

Requirements

Strong organizational skills and a proven ability to meet deadlines

Critical thinking skills and the ability to retain complex work directions

Competent with spreadsheets and databases

Knowledgeable of ERP systems

Outstanding organizational, written and verbal communication skills required

BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics

Attention to detail and proven ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement

Self-driven motivator who takes initiative on projects with a strong ability to understand and solve creative challenges

Spreadsheet and database capabilities

Ability to work well in matrix organization and dealing with ambiguity

Comprehensive knowledge of Accounts Payable (AP)

Bank reconciliations experience highly desired

Wide ranging experience with VLOOKUP

Expertise in Accounts Receivable (AR)

Quality experience with Pivot Table

General familiarity with MS Dynamics

Well-founded grasp of month end closings

Earlier work involving Reconcile Payroll

Practical knowledge of Microsoft Excel

Proven knowledge of journal entries

Foundational knowledge in account reconciliation

Deep understanding of billing

3+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience
