Warehouse Operator (Mills River, NC)

The Warehouse Operator is responsible for receiving, storing, and distributing materials, tools, equipment and products within the establishment. Reporting to the Warehouse Supervisor, this role interfaces with various SNBC departments, vendors, long haul carriers, and customers.
PLEASE NOTE: The shift for this position is 2nd shift (Monday - Friday 2:30pm-11:00pm) Occasional Weekends
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Receive, sort, and store incoming materials according to predetermined sequence in refrigerated or nonrefrigerated rooms; mark materials with identifying information; reconcile order invoices
Read production schedules and supply necessary packaging materials to production teams
Compile worksheets or tickets from customer specification, assemble customer orders from stock, place order on pallets/shelves or convey order to packing station or shipping department, load orders into refrigerated trailers
Maintain accurate inventory levels by recording materials received or distributed, enter records electronically
Manually transfer and stack cases, 1/2-barrel kegs, 5-gallon kegs and 30-liter kegs from staging area onto pallets
Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, automatic and hand help shrink wrapper, and conveyance
Organize and rotate perishable and nonperishable materials and product to maximize warehouse space
Perform other duties as needed
QUALIFICATIONS

Education & Experience
One (1) year powered industrial truck experience required
Experience with commercial tractor-trailer combination vehicles and the ability to maneuver, park and back equipment safely in and out of the loading/receiving docks preferred
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Must be able to work in a fast-paced team environment and interface with various individuals who may or may not work for SNBC
Must be an excellent team player with the ability to also work independently
Ability to learn and master the Warehouse Management System (WMS) used for inventory control of goods
Strong verbal & written communication skills as well as math, reasoning & space management skills are a must
Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task in our fast-paced environment while paying close attention to the details of our areas of operation and processes
Additional REQUIREMENTS
This position will work the second shift from 2:30pm to 11:00pm or later, depending on production needs. Saturday/Sunday shifts may also be scheduled on an as-needed basis.
Selected candidate will be required to pass a post offer, pre-employment background check
Travel
Occasional travel required, primarily to vendors or distributor partners for educational purposes.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet or humid conditions (non-weather); work near moving mechanical parts; cold temperatures (refrigerated warehouses with temperatures ranging from 38° to 60° Fahrenheit.); and other associated conditions normally present in a production setting. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud and may require hearing and protection. Other forms of company-provided personal protective equipment (PPE) may be needed to perform work including hot mitt gloves, cut resistant gloves, non-slip shoes, rain suits, face shield protection, and others as needed.

The employee must be able safely and properly lift 35 pounds without assistance and occasionally lift and/or push / maneuver a 5-gallon keg weighing 55lbs, a 30-liter keg weighing 92 lbs. and a ½ barrel keg weighing 168-pounds safely and with proper body mechanics. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. The employee must be able to stand, walk, and crouch, plus sit for long periods of time. The employee is frequently required to get on and off power industrial equipment multiple times throughout shift.
