If these types of projects excite you, we'd love for you to join us.The roleThe Core Infrastructure team is responsible for all of our Kubernetes production environments - from on-prem to cloud, connected or disconnected, small footprint or large. We help support Palantir's mission by enabling our software to run where it is needed most - no matter the challenges. As a software engineer on the core infrastructure team you get to design and build Palantir's managed Kubernetes product offerings across all hosting environments. You will be responsible for building industry leading tooling that enables a highly-independent, specialized team to operate and evolve hundreds of Kubernetes clusters across these environments (public clouds, restricted/private clouds, on-premise, small hardware footprint environments). We highly value operational and engineering excellence, striving to build tech that not only unlocks the future of infrastructure for Palantir, but doing it with minimal operational overhead. Core Responsibilities- Design and develop the next generation of infrastructure used to run all Palantir software
- Solve critical infrastructural problems faced by the business around networking, DNS, HPC and scale
- Deeply understand system behavior in order to contribute enduring improvements to core technologies and tools
- Drive contributions to open-source software and internal adoption of innovative features and fixes
- Stay abreast of and incorporate the latest developments in CNCF standards and software
- Software engineering experience with an emphasis on operational excellence
- Systems programming experience with strong proficiency in Golang, Java, or equivalent
- Experience developing and managing highly-available distributed systems
- Demonstrated success building systems that meet requirements around monitoring, stability, and scalability
- Deep familiarity with containers (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes) at scale
- Experience working with a cloud provider (AWS/AzureE) or in-house data centers
- Knowledge of infrastructure automation tools such as Terraform
