As the Space Management Expert , you should be able to provide tactical guidelines to Category Advisors and Shelf Management Specialists who are operating as part of a Field Customer Team. Having been in their shoes previously, you should be able to empathize with their short-term needs while wearing a long-term hat as you consult with Field Customer Teams.Since you’re leading this Space Management Team , you should be able to proactively build case studies based on what you’re seeing happening within key Field Customer accounts. The goal is embrace a “lift and re-apply” COE learn to teach mindset so you can codify on-the-ground learnings based on providing Field Customer Team support, build case studies, and broadcast broadly so other Field Customer Accounts can listen, learn, and re-apply in their own spheres of influence.This Space Management Leader will also have the responsibility of leading MDLZ’s Proprietary Perfect Town initiative (details during interview) where the Shelving Principles can be implemented in a real-time basis to understand true impact and leverage real time behaviors to inform unknown insight gaps. As such, it’s critical to have an individual with design thinking background, a passion toward creative problem solving, and someone who thrives in ambiguity.Have served as a trusted business advisor to 2+ Customers in shelf management and have contributed to volume growth for categories in previous work experience.

Has worked within at least 2, ideally 3, Customer/Retailer Teams and have contributed to and shares responsibility for meeting the Team’s volume targets.

Managed all activities relating to optimizing assortment and shelf management with Retail Customers. Examples would include: store clustering/segmentation, participation in advanced plan-o-gram technologies (i.e. Galleria), Red Dot and Test & Learn.

Have provided category management support to sophisticated Retail Customers, i.e., you must have gone beyond simply executing assortment and shelf management guidelines. You should have clear context of category management, shelf productivity and effectiveness, space allocation based on KPS (revenue/days of supply/ROI), & analysis cum resolution of out of stocks, assortment analysis leading to optimal share of shelf, improved positioning, and best variety.

Seasoned expert on all field sales space management technology, its applications, & have established shelving principles and standards in previous work experience.

Previous analytical experience in pricing analysis, promotion planning and evaluation.

Bachelor's in Accounting/Finance, Marketing/Business, Computer Science, Operation Logistics.

Master’s Degree is a STRONG plus

10 + years CPG experience; with at least 3-5 years of direct people management experience

5+ years of Shelf Management functional expertise on Retail Customer Teams. Experience with Walmart, Dollar General, Kroger, Costco, Sam’s Club, Target, Amazon, etc is a STRONG plus.

Strong problem-solving capability, i.e., identify what’s the problem to solve before executing

Strong quantitative analysis (syndicated data knowledge) and custom research experience.

Proficiency in MS Office (including Excel and PowerPoint) & Tableau with a heavy focus on storytelling, synthesizing insights from multiple sources.

Experience leading/facilitating collaborative brainstorming sessions is a strong plus.

Strong industry / sales knowledge with emphasis on category and space management.

Solid organization, project management, time management, and planning skills.

Strong written / oral communication skills.

Ability to work in a dynamic fast paced work place with a focus on achieving work/life balance.

People management experience and skills.

Strong informal leadership w/a penchant toward emotional intelligence

Strong problem solving, analytical skillset, and creative infusion

Presenting to senior stake holders internally and with Retail Customers

Ability to comprehend shelf management concepts in the context of category management

Ability to learn and apply shelf management software applications

Ability to work effectively with customer business teams and external customers
