Job Summary The Senior Manager, Access and Reimbursement will appropriately inform, support and manage regional customers' needs with respect to Eisai's access and reimbursement programs in support of patient access to prescribed therapies (examples: patient assistance, reimbursement support, distribution and coverage policies). The Senior Manager, Access and Reimbursement is a customer-facing resource that is focused on the access and reimbursement process at the field level. In the event of an access or reimbursement issue, this role will quickly identify, triage, and elevate the situation to appropriate internal or external Eisai partners and manage the communication until appropriate resolution. This role will have a keen understanding of payer coverage issues/opportunities at the customer and regional level, as well as develop and implement appropriate and compliant strategies that increase access to Eisai's portfolio of products. As a subject matter expert in access and reimbursement, this role will consistently and expeditiously communicate current and pertinent field access or when applicable, reimbursement information to regional and corporate partners, including customer feedback, payer coverage (medical/pharmacy benefit), and access to product procurement. This role will also appropriately and compliantly create and deliver high-level training programs to the sales force regarding general information on patient access issues, Eisai patient support programs, and appropriate guardrails to maintain separation between the sales force and the ARM team. This role will also educate physicians, office administrators, case managers, financial counselors, hospital CFOs, medical directors, billing personnel, and pharmacists in clinics and hospitals, as appropriate, on matters related to patient access to Eisai products. Due to the leadership and access expertise, the Senior Manager, Access and Reimbursement is viewed by colleagues and customers as a valuable resource in support of patient access to prescribed Eisai medication. Key Internal Customers: Market Access, Marketing Teams, Government Relations, Legal and Compliance Key External Customers: Health Care Professionals and stakeholders responsible for patient coverage and access. These stakeholders are, but not limited to the following: Practice Mangers, Financial Counselors, Pharmacy Managers/Directors, Business Administrators, State Societies, and DME/MAC personnel. Essential Functions: 1. Act as the regional point of contact for customers with patient access and reimbursement needs. Proactively meet with personnel (e.g., office administrators' financial counselors, pharmacy stakeholders, and HCPs) in regional accounts. Provide education on Eisai's patient access and when applicable, reimbursement support. This includes patient support services, distribution for Eisai products (if dispense in-office), and reimbursement support for Eisai products. Possess expertise in payer policies across the continuum and educate providers' office staff, as appropriate. 2. Work closely with customers to understand challenges in the patient access process. Based on patient access needs, provide information about appropriate services from the Eisai Assistance Program. In the event a patient access barrier or reimbursement issue is unable to be immediately resolved, effectively triage and elevate to appropriate internal Eisai personnel or external hub vendor for additional action. 3. Develop strategies to address access and reimbursement needs across a region. Identify payer trends and take initiative around developing, coordinating, and executing plans to create and maintain treatment access for patients. Analyze data to provide specific actionable steps to facilitate patient access to Eisai's portfolio. Provide publicly available payer updates to pertinent HCP personnel. 4. Communicate field insights to Market Access teams. Work within matrix organizational structure to collaborate across Market Access, Legal, and other functional teams, to develop and implement program solutions for both new and in-line products. Present compliant patient services updates to executive stakeholders quarterly, and Marketing/Brand, as necessary and appropriate. 5. Consistently demonstrate uncompromised integrity while working cross-functionally and collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders. Strong understanding of legal and regulatory parameters related to patient access and support programs. Comply with all Eisai promotional and administrative policies and applicable law. This territory includes the following states (PA, MD, VA, DC, WV, DE, Upstate NY) Required Experience, Knowledge, and Skills: Bachelor's degree is required, advanced degree preferred Minimum 7+ years of relevant experience in the pharmaceutical industry Previous patient access or reimbursement experience strongly preferred Comprehensive understanding of Specialty Pharmacy distribution, patient support programs, financial assistance, and patient assistance programs Market Access payer and/or patient access support programs experience desired Demonstrated strong understanding of the US healthcare system across major payer segments (Medicare, Medicaid, Federal, and Commercial) Strong understanding of medical and pharmacy benefits, coverage policies, and reimbursement Strong understanding of oral and infused therapeutics with knowledge of oral specialty dispensing (IOD/SPP) Maintain current knowledge of the US healthcare payment system, national challenges and local challenges and the effect on Eisai's portfolio of therapies Maintain current knowledge of the various distribution systems within the US healthcare environment. Highly organized, strategic thinker with excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills Demonstrates a high level of emotional intelligence and self-awareness, the ability to excel at multiple objectives simultaneously Demonstrated excellence account management, relationship development, and strong collaborator Must successfully complete all company training programs and pass the company certification process, as well as all customer mandated and vendor credential requirements Valid US driver's license and a driving record in compliance with company standards Must reside within the geography with the ability to travel up to 60% - overnights dependent on geography Eisai requires all new hires to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and provide valid proof of vaccination as of their start date, to the extent permitted under state law.
