Production Book Binder Operator

About the Company:

Book1One is a print and production bindery that specializes in personalized books as well as short run book projects ranging from 1 to 1,000. Started in 2005, we have an excellent record of growth and stability. We are currently searching for a highly motivated and energetic individual to run our bindery production equipment.

About the position:

This is a full-time position with a multitude of benefits including health, dental, vision, life insurance, 401k as well as paid vacation and holidays. The position is Monday - Friday with overtime on weekends as needed or extended shifts during the week. We have openings for a Day shift position. During peak production seasons hours may extend to 12 hour days. You will set up, calibrate, operate, and maintain various bindery equipment. Direct experience in a print manufacturing environment is preferred but not required. Book1One’s new facility is also fully climate-controlled.

You will be expected to efficiently and effectively operate machines as well as perform daily/weekly/monthly preventative maintenance on the equipment. You will also be responsible for additional maintenance on the machines such as replacing worn belts, sensors, and motors and coordinating with field service engineers to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair the equipment as needed. You will be responsible for monitoring consumable supply levels and advise reorders as needed to ensure consistent flow and operation of the machines. This position will require the candidate to work in various areas of the factory on any given day. It will also be your responsibility to maintain quality control standards for all work being produced from your machine. Previous exposure to Lean Manufacturing principles is a plus. Candidates applying for this position should be highly motivated, adaptable, and able to work effectively with their fellow team members.

Requirements:

High School Diploma/GED

Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability and confidence to troubleshoot, maintain and repair damaged or malfunctioning equipment

Familiar with PC operating systems and comfortable using a computer

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including effective listening

Must be able to work safely, communicate well, and produce quality work at an efficient pace

Manage time well and prioritize tasks. Must be well organized and be able to maintain a clean working environment and maintain minimal waste

Ability to be flexible with work schedule to accommodate production needs and overtime

Must have reliable transportation and reliable attendance

Physical Requirements:

Ability to bend, lift, and squat while loading, unloading and performing maintenance on machines

Ability to stand for a full shift

Ability to lift 20lbs consistently and up to 40lbs frequently
