A NYS agency located in Queens, NY is looking for a Cybersecurity Trainer for a 12 month contract.

Please note that this position may initially allow for work to be performed remotely. However, consultant will be required to work on-site/in-office once COVID restrictions are lifted. Requirements and skills

  • 10+ years of experience in Information Security and/or Related Field
  • Undergraduate degree in related field
  • CISSP, SANS (GIAC) and other relevant cybersecurity certifications preferred
  • Deep understanding of networking protocols & layers
  • Basic understanding of Operations Technology environments
  • 3+ years of experience in Organizational Training/Teaching and/or related field
  • 1+ years of experience building/developing Information Security material
  • Experience presenting to and interacting with adult learners in a professional training environment
  • Experience with executing mixed-method trainings, course design documents, implementation strategies, and program evaluations
  • Experience with the development of cybersecurity awareness communications and messaging
  • A high degree of proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), and the ability to translate complex concepts/data into graphically appealing and easy to understand presentations
  • Outstanding communication skills and comfortable speaking to crowds
  • Ability and willingness to travel to all agency locations
  • 6+ years' experience with: Information Security and Training/Education

Preferred Skills

  • In-Depth knowledge of Operations Technology Security
  • Experience building/developing content with audio/video editing software/tools (e.g., Camtasia, Audacity, Visme, Adobe Suite)
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems (Adobe Captivate Prime)
  • Experience building and implementing training programs from ground up

Responsibilities

  • Administer classroom training, electronic learning, multimedia programs, and other computer-aided instructional technologies, simulators, conferences, and workshops
  • Observe and evaluate the results of courses to improve the effectiveness of the programs
  • Assist with developing and designing compliant training modules for a technical workforce
  • Learn the agency business environment and basic risk management approaches
  • Support agency's continued efforts with asset discovery, network visualization, vulnerability assessment, risk monitoring and threat detection within the OT Networks
  • The OT (Operational Technologies) Security Group is seeking a consultant to support multiple projects focused on OT Cybersecurity Awareness and Training; and Critical Infrastructure Security. The candidate will be responsible for supporting the OT cyber training program and supporting OT Security projects.
  • The ideal candidate would work closely with the training departments across all agencies to assist in developing and managing a comprehensive cyber training program.
