Seeking an experienced, smart, highly organized, visually detail-oriented individual to purchase wholesale jewelry manufacturing materials and manage the workload of several craftspeople while working on a variety of simultaneous projects such as updating the website, pricing new collections, packing and shipping orders, and completing documents for clients with the use of Microsoft Suite.
ABOUT THE COMPANY:
KJK Jewelry is a small, happy, bi-lingual team that enjoys working together. Work-life balance is very important to us; we work hard the hours we are in the studio, but we seldom work overtime or on weekends. Our bright studio is centrally located in Manhattan. KJK Jewelry designs, manufactures, and wholesales high-quality bridge jewelry collections for cultural institutions, catalogs, and fine boutiques. Our work is hand-crafted in our NYC studio from carefully selected semi-precious stones, glass, and pearls that are collected from around the world. Our reputation is excellent. Our 37-year-old company is woman-owned and operated and we proudly craft almost all of our pieces in NYC. We are excited about adding a new member to our team!
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
Sourcing and purchasing a vast array of jewelry parts semi-precious stones and findings
Assessing and managing inventory of all materials and finished products
Overseeing the Production Calendar to ensure timely delivery to all customers
Quality control of all incoming and outgoing goods
Accurately calculating costs of new designs
Entering and maintaining product records in Filemaker
Updating pricing and items in Quickbooks and on our Shopify website
Packing and Shipping orders via UPS and Fedex both domestic and international
Setting up trade shows and potentially working the booth
Possible Jewelry production involving bead stringing and wire wrapping
General Administration duties include: Answering phones, processing Paypal sales, ordering office supplies, and filing.
REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum 3 Years of jewelry work experience
Two work references
Highly organized; Ability to independently manage time, people, and things
Excellent visual memory - detail-oriented
Excellent multi-tasking skills
Kind and clear communications skills in person, in writing, and on the phone
Excellent general computer skills Quickbooks, Filemaker, Excel, and Word.
Readiness and comfort in learning new computer software and skills
Knowledge and experience in purchasing wholesale beads and findings
Ability to easily identify semi-precious stones and pearls
Honesty, reliability, and friendliness
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL ALSO HAVE:
Interest in Art History
Excellent writing skills
Experience with Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop
The desire and ability to create beaded jewelry with basic wire wrapping skills
