Description Define roles and responsibilities related to data governance and ensure clear accountability and stewardship for information assets to achieve the required level of quality and consistency Define the Critical Success Factors and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for success of the data governance program Engage with Senior Management to promote data governance initiatives and report on progress Own the Roadmap of the Enterprise Data Catalog Lead sessions with business and technical stakeholders to identify key data elements and business terms, and achieve consensus on definitions for those elements/terms Manage metadata across all aspects of our internal data platform to promote self-service data discovery and exploration Partner with the business to design and implement lightweight data governance policies, standards and procedures that do not stifle agility Provide guidance and training to the business on how to implement data governance policies Partner with the Risk and Compliance team to drive consistent security processes across our internal data platform, and to classify, secure and protect sensitive data Work with engineering teams to define processes to capture and manage data lineage in the data catalog Perform functional configuration tasks, testing, and migrations related to the data catalog Define and collect metrics to measure data catalog usage and adoption Perform proactive data profiling, technical data analysis, and review profiling results with the business to identify data quality rules for critical data Manage stakeholder communications to ensure all data consumers are aware of data governance strategies and any changes At least 15 years experience working in a Data Governance, Data Management and/or Data Architecture role At least 5 years of experience leading and implementing data governance programs Effective communicator who is comfortable building relationships and achieving consensus across a diverse set of business stakeholders Strong experience in eliciting and documenting data requirements and data quality rules Experience working with data across multiple business domains including Sales, Marketing and Finance Knowledgeable about core data lake, data warehousing and business intelligence concepts Solid SQL knowledge; MQL knowledge is a plus Capable of juggling multiple projects simultaneously A lifelong learner who strives for continuous improvement Our client is a top-tier Fintech that has been ranked by Forbes as one of the best places to work in the United States.
