We are a wildly popular local coffee & espresso company. We are a newly opened coffee shop dedicated to serving only the finest directly sourced, sustainably grown coffee & espresso in New York. Our business has grown substantially and safely over the past 6 months & we need to expand our management team immediately.

Manager should be an experienced coffee & espresso connoisseur you will be expected to work a minimum of 40 hours per week, which will include 2 -3 bar shifts. The manager is responsible for leading the crew. She/ he is responsible for managing the day-to-day store operations, maintaining high standards and fostering a positive work environment. Consistent, fast, efficient, and friendly service is a must.

The manager will help maintain the vibe and personality of the shop by being an advocate of training, customer service, product knowledge and on-going education. As manager you will have an assistant manager that reports directly to you. Tremendous room for growth & advancement with this golden ground floor opportunity Tremendous room to be creative

The position comes with a $42,500 base salary per year + tips. There is also a very generous yearly Bonus based on sales.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Manager

- Role Model for outstanding service and “owner” of the service initiative at her/his store.

- Pro-active in solving customer issues and satisfying guests and various situations.

- Ensure that all team members are committed to superior service as well.

- Coach team members to provide guests with efficient, friendly, superior service.

- Assess and provide adequate staffing.

- Maintain high cleanliness standards consistently throughout the shop's appearance, merchandise and equipment.

- Prepare weekly work schedules for staff and finding suitable replacements in case of absence.

- Receive deliveries and verifying that the correct items and quantities are delivered.

- Take inventory of supplies and ordering new stock as needed.

Drinks:

- Develop seasonal specialty drink menu.

- Ensure that drink recipes and metrics are followed, maintaining our high quality consistency.

- Ensure that the team is educated on our products and offerings. Develop the crews understanding of our roasters, blends and roasts, as well as knowledge of coffee regions, and the various differences in flavor and blends.

- Taste drinks on a per shift basis to maintain quality.

Training & Development:

- Develop ongoing training and education to the team regarding coffee knowledge As well as shop operating standards and customer service

- lead the crew and COMMUNICATE effectively.

- Maintain morale and build team spirit by encouraging input.

- Help make team members understand they are valued.

- Ensure the baristas have received proper training to efficiently create consistently amazing drinks.

- Continually develop team, coaching and counseling for improved performance, (documenting developmental plans as necessary)

Qualifications:

- 3 years proven management experience (with references) required.

- NYC food handler's license (No Exceptions)

- Effective communication & customer service skills.

- Excellent organizational and time management skills.

- Computer proficient; familiar with POS systems, Word, Excel, etc.

- Able to work overtime, including weekends, evenings and special events as needed.

- Must be well-organized, detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task.

- Must display effective problem solving/decision & management skills.

This position will require frequent standing and use of hands and arms.

Must be able to lift up to 30lbs and frequently bend and twist from the waist.

Frequently required to use hand and finger motions, handle or feel objects, reach with hands and arms.

Must be able to adjust vision to both day and night lighting, and be able to focus on distant and close-range projects. Regularly required to handle food, hot beverages, and work with sharp objects.

Must have excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
