Performs pulmonary function testing including FVL, FVC, Lung Volumes, DLCO, MVV as required. Checks and validates physician order for testing procedure.
Performs methacholine challenge testing.
Performs 6-minute walks and oxygen titration.
Performs sputum induction.
Educates patients about inhaler technique and airway clearance.
Generates paperwork to permit the interpretation of pulmonary function tests and generates finalized reports.
Maintains testing equipment.
Performs other duties as assignedJob Qualification
Associate's Degree required, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
Current License to practice as a Respiratory Therapist in New York State, and Current Respiratory Therapist (NBRC) Certification in New York State required, plus specialized certifications as needed.
1-3 years of relevant experience, required.
