Our client is a leading global Financial markets data provider runs a number of change programs to deliver of high-quality software that connects Financial Markets across the glob in a real-time, high frequency and low-latency data management chain. The projects are technically challenging in an environment that is very engaging. Projects will utilize a multitude of different languages and skill sets with a focus on C, Java and scripting languages.

The DevOps Engineer is responsible for collaborating with internal stakeholders, including software development teams and information technology resources to support business processes and provide operational efficiency using industry standard technologies.

This position will work collaboratively with IT and software engineering teams to deploy and operate our systems/platforms, and support client utilization. This will include helping to automate and streamline our operations and processes, along with building and maintaining tools for deployment, monitoring and operations. Additionally, this position will troubleshoot and resolve issues in our dev, test and production environments. Responsibilities:• Engage in and improve the whole lifecycle of services—from inception and design, through deployment, operation and refinement.• Support services before they go live through activities such as system design consulting, developing software platforms and frameworks, capacity planning and launch reviews.• Maintain services once they are live by measuring and monitoring availability, latency and overall system health.• Scale systems sustainably through mechanisms like automation and evolve systems by pushing for changes that improve reliability and velocity.• Practice sustainable incident response and blameless postmortems. Mandatory Skills Description:Required Knowledge• 3-5 years of hands-on experience in technical roles or projects• Engineering best practices like secrets management, automated CICD, and containerization• Modern service architectures that include databases, caches, CDNs and Kubernetes• Troubleshooting, debugging, and general problem solving

Required Tools• git• Amazon Web Services• Docker• CICD platforms like CircleCI, Jenkins, or Drone• A scripting language like shell, Python, or Typescript• A config management tool like ansible, puppet, or chef• An infrastructure management tool like Terraform, CloudFormation, or Pulu

Minimum Qualifications• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related technical field involving software/systems engineering, or equivalent practical experience.• Experience programming in at least one of the following languages: C, C, Java, Python, or Go.• Experience with algorithms and data structures.

Preferred Qualifications• Expertise in designing, analyzing, and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems.• Ability to debug, optimize code, and automate routine tasks.• Systematic problem-solving approach, coupled with effective communication skills and a sense of drive.• Understanding of Unix/Linux operating systems.
