Director of Software Engineering

Piper Companies is looking for a Director of Software Engineering in New York, New York, to join a Fortune 500 payment solutions organization. The Director of Software Engineering will have a deep passion for bleeding edge technologies and the uncanny ability to take a vision and drive execution based on that vision. This Director of Software Engineering opportunity is part of the new product development organization and will be asked to guide and execute the development of the next generation of Web-based payment solutions for this client. • Lead Engineers and drive delivery of scalable and secure web solutions in accordance with the Architectural Roadmap
• Serve as the Mentor, Coach, and manage the development of members of the team.
• Identify and groom future leaders

• Must have prior Manager or Senior Manager experience and responsibilities. Experience delivering products as a Director is preferred
• While you will not be asked to code, we need someone who isn't afraid to roll up the sleeves and dive in when needed
• Prior experience leading the development of enterprise B2B or B2C web solutions. Experience in delivering fintech solutions is highly preferred.
• Broad understanding of application architecture and development with deep experience in one of the following areas:
  • UI/Front-End/Client-Side Engineering
    • Tech Stack: Javascript - VueJS (Experience with ReactJS, AngularJS, or other modern Javascript Frameworks is ok)
  • Back-end/Server-Side Engineering
    • Tech Stack: Java 8, Spring Framework with a heavy emphasis on Spring Boot
  • API Engineering
  • Cloud Platform Engineering
    • Tech Stack: PCF (Pivotal Cloud Foundry) - Also open to candidates with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform experience
  • Test Automation Engineering
    • Tech Stack: Selenium WebDriver and Selenium Grid

• Base Salary: $185,000-$215,000
• Bonus: 27% (Last year, the team received a 35% bonus)
