Senior Java Developer (Remote)

A nonprofit organization in New York City is currently seeking an experienced Java Developer to join their staff in a Remote and Senior role.

• Designing and creating RESTFul web services using JAX-RS
• Building or maintaining cloud-native applications.
• Writing clean, readable and reusable Java libraries
• Writing prepared statements and querying Oracle
• Creating database schema that represent and support business processes

• 3+ years of Development experience in AWS and Java
• Associate's and/or Bachelor's Degree in a related fild
• Proficient in J2EE, with a good knowledge of its ecosystems
• Experience with the core AWS services (API Gateway, Lambda, S3, Batch, EC2,DynamoDB, CloudWatch)
• Strong working experience with Spring and Springboot applications
• Strong understanding of object-oriented programming
• Hands-on experience with writing infrastructure as code (IaC) using Terraform
• Strong working experience with Docker and ECS.
• Understanding of key web fundamentals like CORS and browser security
• Familiar with various design and architectural patterns
• Working knowledge in creating/maintaining Jenkins CI-CD pipeline
• Proficient with version control like GIT/BitBucket
• Knowledge in tuning the SQL to achieve better performance
• Understanding fundamental design principles behind a scalable application
• Great interpersonal skills
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
• Strong attention to detail
• Highly organized
