Our corporate solutions firm is looking for a Cloud DevOps Engineer

Job Summary:Our client is looking for a hands-on Senior Enterprise Software Engineer in our Architecture & Engineering Services (AES) Team to design, build, and integrate or next generation of enterprise cloud services. Working within our Engineering team and collaborating closely with our customers, Cloud Operations, Security, Compliance, and other key stakeholders, the developer will be responsible for driving key projects and initiatives in GBS.

Our Engineering teams primary focuses on developing enterprise cloud services that automate traditional IT Operations tasks using Cloud software development kits (SDKs), configuration management tools (like Ansible), infrastructure orchestration tools (such as Terraform) and where appropriate, commercial off the shelf tools (such as Solarwinds). Besides, the Engineering team is engaged in initiatives of transforming the IT Operations Services suite to be scalable and API-capable.

Our Senior Enterprise Software Engineer will work closely with other Engineers leveraging a standard set of enterprise-wide artifacts such as Design Patterns and Standards, follow guiding design principles ensuring the develop solutions or technical components deliver GBS strategic intent, while meeting the solution requirements providing business value.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 70% Software Development
  • Develop, debug, and document enterprise services using Azure, AWS SDKs
  • Develop, Enhance, reverse engineer, and debug new/existing Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) capabilities leveraging tools such as Terraform, Ansible, etc.
  • Explore new technologies, development patterns, and partake in pilots/POC/technology evaluations
  • Participate in all aspects of the software development life cycle from design, delivery to on-going critical support
  • Work to continually improve product functionality and quality
  • Provide input into architecture and engineering standards
  • Deploy emergency bug fixes on services in production as required
15% Software Design/Troubleshooting
  • Develop software design, QA and architecture patterns and standards
  • Coordinate and assist in complex troubleshooting
10% Leadership
  • Serves as a peer leader to other developers and grows technical skills and practices for high-quality software development 5% New Technologies
  • Actively explore new trends and identifying new ways of solving old problems.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by management

Qualifications: Required: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field A Valid Technical Certificate in Azure, AWS, Google Cloud, Terraform or Kubernetes 5+ years' experience in a Cloud DevOps engineering role 3+ years' experience programming with the cloud SDKs/APIs or cloud deployment tools (such as Terraform, Cloud Native ARM/CFT Templates, etc.) 2+ years' experience working with CI/CD tools (Azure DevOps, GitLab, GitHub, Jenkins or other well-known tools) 1+ years' experience with Kubernetes Able to articulate complex engineering challenges to fellow engineers and partner teams Able to communicate on issues/problems to technical leadership such as Director/VP of Architecture & Engineering
