Position Overview

We are seeking a caring and enthusiastic Daycare Assistant Teacher to support our Lead Teacher in providing a nurturing and educational environment for young children. The Assistant Teacher will help facilitate daily activities, promote positive interactions among children, and contribute to the overall development and well-being of each child in our care.

Key Responsibilities

- Create and maintain a well-organized, safe, and inviting classroom environment that fosters the growth and development of children.

- Build strong, positive relationships with each child, encouraging their self-esteem and self-discipline.

- Establish open communication with families, providing regular updates about their child's daily experiences at the center.

- Implement child care routines—such as diapering, handwashing, mealtime, napping, and transitions—efficiently and hygienically.

- Ensure children’s safety through vigilant supervision, thoughtful classroom layout, and proper equipment upkeep.

- Support daily health procedures, including medication administration, sanitization, and First Aid/CPR as needed.

- Assist with the safe evacuation of children during fire drills, natural disasters, or other emergencies.

- Uphold confidentiality regarding children and families at all times.

Qualifications

- High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field preferred).

- Experience working with young children in a daycare or educational setting is a plus.

- Understanding of child development principles and best practices in early childhood education.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.

Compensation

The position offers a competitive hourly wage of $16 per hour, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
