Bookkeeper needed for a Medical Supplies company in Edgewood (Brentwood/Deer Park), Long Island, New York. The position is currently Part-Time with flexible hours for anytime between 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday. Potential for Full-Time.

Responsibilities:

It will encompass a broad range of daily accounts receivable and accounts payable functions. Quickbooks and Microsoft Excel & Word will be used in this position, and training on the company's internal general ledger system will be provided.

Responsibilities:

Understand inventory, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable and sales tax.

Perform day to day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, posting and recording accounts receivable data,

and make online deposits

Validate discrepancies and resolve customer billing issues

Facilitate payment of invoices due by distributing collection statements and contacting customers

Verify and prepare vendor bills and company checks for payment

Process credit cards, enters transactions and reconciles with bank statements

Maintains accurate bank balances, reconciles bank accounts

Manages accounts receivable, gathering backup and generating invoices

Manages accounts payable, paying bills, maintaining vendor control

Enters bi-weekly payroll journal entries

Processes customer credit applications through banking and vendor reference verifications.

Maintain vendor files, and match product pricing and terms to process invoices.

Update/Import New Vendor Pricing.

Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Personality Traits, Skills and Qualifications:

Minimum of 1-2 years of bookkeeper experience

Proficient in Quickbooks

Knowledge of Prophet 21 a plus.

Team-player personality

Demonstrates reliability

Communicates clearly in a positive, confident, and respectful manner both verbally and in writing

Likes to analyze information to detect patterns and introduce improvements

Flexible attitude to adapt to changing situations and priorities
