Summary THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a ELECTRONIC INTEGRATED SYSTEMS MECHANIC, Position Description Number D0872P01 and is part of the ARMY AVIATION SUPPORT FACILITY 3, National Guard. This vacancy does not meet the criteria for appointment of annuitants. There are two positions available. Responsibilities As an Electronic Integrated Systems Mechanic, WG-2610, you will perform work involved in installing, troubleshooting, repairing, modifying, calibrating, aligning, and maintaining the complete electronic integrated systems on Army National Guard helicopters. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Military Grades: Enlisted Only GENERAL EXPERIENCE: An applicant must have a validated understanding of the basic principles and concepts of the occupational series and grade. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have at least 24 months of skill, knowledge, and abilities of the FWS 2610 work at the Electronics Branch of an Army Aviation Support Facility (AASF), Army Aviation Flight Activity (AAFA), or Theatre Aviation Sustainment Maintenance Group (TASMG). Must have competencies in performing electronic integrated systems work activities on Army National Guard helicopters such as, installing, troubleshooting, repairing, modifying, calibrating, aligning, and maintaining these systems. Skilled in performing operational checks, inspections, tests, and troubleshooting on electronic integrated systems composed of a number of sensor subsystems: Integrated Vehicle Health Management System (IVHMS), the Common Missile Warning System (CMWS), the Improved Countermeasure Dispenser System (ICMD), the Night Vision Goggle System (NVG), the ARNG Data Subsystem, the Attitude Heading Reference System (AHRS) and Doppler/GPS Navigation System (DGNS), Command Instrument Set (CIS); a logic subsystem Multiplex Data Bus System (MUX), the Multiplex Remote Terminal Units (MRTU), Data Link Terminal Units (DLTU), and Digital Automatic Flight Control System (DAFCS); and actuating subsystemsDigital Automatic Stabilization System (DASS), which includes the Stability Augmentation System (SAS) and Command Augmentation System (CAS) and Hover Augmentation System (HAS). Skilled in conducting operational checks, inspections, tests and troubleshooting of Line Replaceable Units (LRU). Experienced in isolating unusual malfunctions using technical manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams, tools and test equipment including automatic test equipment. Competent in identifying and solving problems system concerns by analyzing installation, circuitry, and operating characteristics of these systems. Skilled in adjusting and aligning sensors, transmitters, amplifiers, power supplies, display devices, controls, actuators, servos, computers and other related components. Have technical expertise in removing faulty LRUs for shop repair. Skilled and knowledgeable in the installation of serviceable components into the aircraft and in performing total systems alignments, in accordance with existing technical manuals and directives. Accomplished in following technical manual compliance and modification of components and systems; and, skilled in completing systems checks for proper operations. Skilled in maintaining, modifying, calibrating and inspecting a wide variety of user tests, measurements, and diagnostic equipment (TMDE). Skilled in completing bench checks, testing, repairs, inspections, modifications, programming, reprogramming, mating, adjusting, alignments, and analyzing of LRUs and shop replaceable units. Experienced in using a variety of test equipment such as, automatic test equipment (ATE), oscilloscopes, DTA computer, multi-meters, power-meters, and special purpose bench test sets. Competent to test and troubleshoot solid state electronic assemblies and subassemblies such as, circuit cards, modules, rate gyros, electronic control amplifiers, electro-mechanical assemblies, random access memories, programmable read-only memories and various integrated circuits. Capable to certify the operational integrity of various night vision systems, and electro-optical components. Skilled in recognizing methods to improve equipment performance, technical data, and maintenance procedures by reporting hardware and software malfunctions, initiates material deficiency reports both on equipment and in technical data. Experienced in debriefing aircrews to determine the nature of system malfunctions, then documents all maintenance performed and records information related to the system, LRU's, or shop repairable units on both aircraft and historical records. Should have experiences as a flight crew member for the purpose of diagnosing and recording malfunctions, or otherwise determining maintenance and repair requirements. Experienced in providing instructional training to other mechanics in regard to the repair of computer controlled automatic test equipment, line replaceable units and aircraft integrated systems. Experiences included participation in various types of readiness evaluations such as, Operational Readiness Evaluations (ORE), Command Logistics Readiness Inspections (CLRT-X), and Aviation Resource Management Surveys. May have experiences in performing additional duties such as, structural firefighting, aircraft handling, heavy equipment operation, and maintenance of facilities and equipment, or served as a member of a team to cope with natural disasters or civil emergencies. Knowledgeable in safety, fire, security, and housekeeping regulations. Education A high school diploma or GED, are mandatory requirements. Completion of high school courses in physics, algebra, trigonometry, and computer principles is desirable. Higher academic college courses and degrees, that are aligned within the FWS Series 2610 work tasks, are also desirable. You must provide High School Diploma/GED or Official Transcripts as documentation to support your Educational claims. To receive credit for Education, you must provide documentation of proof that you meet the Education requirements for this position.
