Tom works at an auto repair shop…

Dick owns the shop. One day, work was slow. Half the technicians had nothing to do.

Harry came in for an oil change. Dick told Tom to do the oil change and check the car over to see if it needed any repairs. Tom did the oil change and found that the car didn’t need any work at this time.

Dick said, “Look harder – I think it needs brakes.” Tom said, “I checked Harry’s brakes and they’re in good shape.”

Dick said, “I didn’t hear that. Look again.” (wink, wink) Tom double checked the brakes and told Dick, “Harry’s brakes are fine.”

Dick said, “Well since there are no other jobs today, I guess you won’t earn any more money today.”

Tom asked Dick, “Isn’t it the owner’s problem to find customers? How will I pay my rent?” Dick responded, “Not my problem.”

The moral of the story?

DON’T WORK FOR A DICK.
