Dispatcher/OTR Planner

Job Description

Martens Fresh is a growing company looking for a person with experience in dispatching/planning

OTR and local trucks.

The Planner/Dispatcher is expected to maintain effective communication with customers, drivers, and management to ensure the timeliness of freight and equipment movement. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to; dispatching and routing drivers on loads, managing loads from assignment to delivery, managing any problems that arise (e.g. late deliveries, unexpected fees/claims, truck/driver problems, etc.), ensuring drivers abide by federal/state laws, answering phone lines, recommend strategies to generate resources and increase productivity.

· Obtaining direct freight and overseeing the freight until the freight bill has been paid in full to the company

· Scheduling pickup and delivery

appointments as needed

· Updating freight customers as needed

· Working to plan loads and manage

loads until delivered

· Working to pre-plan reloads for all trucks

· Managing any problems including but not limited to OS&Ds, late deliveries and truck/driver problems

· Answering the telephone (both during business hours and after hours as needed)

· Helping resolve problems

· Maximizing the efficiency of the operation of all trucks (to include decreasing empty miles and maximizing revenue per mile for all miles traveled)

SPECIFIED DUTIES:

· Knowledge of DOT AND FM CSR

· Proficient in Hours of Service

· Excellent Computer Skills

· Knowledge of Window Operations

· Great time management and organizational skills

· Be able to work in fast pace environment and multitask

· Maintenance and equipment knowledge

· Attention to detail

· Great communication skills: Experience:

Truck load Planning: 3 years (Preferred)

DOT: 3 years (Preferred)

Trucking: 3 years (Preferred)

Refrigeration: 3 years (Preferred)
