Per NYS Regulation all applicants must be fully vaccinated Internal Posting Dates: January 21, 2022 – January 28, 2022 Emergency Room –Registered Nurse – Day Shift: Full-Time 7a-7p Various We have a Level III Emergency Department, which means that we have the ability to handle the needs of all patients. Our department sees an estimated 12,000 patients a year and we still manage to have one of the shortest emergency room wait-times in the area. Additionally, all of our registered nurses are BLS, PALS, ACLS and TNCC providers. We are also one of the few emergency departments in the area to collaborate with the Stroke Center located at the Upstate University Hospital, which is the first official Stroke Center in Central New York. This means that we can effectively treat our stroke patients in our emergency room through the use of telemedicine since we are able to reach Neurologists at the Stroke Center within minutes. Requirements: Current NYS license required

One year of critical care or ED experience

Required to obtain/maintain BLS. ACLS and PALS will be obtained/maintained within six (6) months of hire.

Recommended to obtain/maintain Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certifications and/or Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC).

Encouraged to obtain/maintain their Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) through the ENA (Emergency Nurses Association).

Responsibilities:

Provide direct and indirect patient care in the emergency care setting.

They provide care that reflects initiative, flexibility and responsibility indicative of professional expectation with minimum supervision.

Determine priorities of care based on physical and psychosocial needs, as well as factors influencing patient flow through the system.

Communicate with Emergency Department physicians about changes in patient's status, symptomatology and results of diagnostic studies.

Able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment.

Must possess the ability to interact and communicate effectively with all levels of staff, patients, and family members.
