This position requires to work 2 days a week onsite in Brooklyn, NY Programmer II Data Manager/SQL Programmer SCOPE OF SERVICES: Performing as a member of an Agile development team, this position is responsible for developing and continually refining the reporting infrastructure required for operational reporting, data analytics, and business intelligence.Responsibilities include: Independently design, develop and implement databases and/or data marts that will be used to feed operational dashboards on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.Create and implement the data models and database designs required to support the growing operational reporting needs of the division.Participate in database programming and data extraction, transformation and loading of data for custom reporting applications or enhancements to systems.Extract and transform data from multiple internal systems into a consolidated database that will be used for MIS reporting, dashboards and analytical modeling.Insure that all database designs conform to appropriate data modeling standards, guidelines, internal best practices and approved modeling techniques and approaches.Interface with users, sponsors and all other stakeholders in order to determine and plan for evolving data requirements.Liaise with the all other data management groups to ensure that there is consistency with existing systems and that minimum reporting standards are met.Actively participate in working sessions to help define system requirements pertaining to the design and building phases for all data related systems.Assist in maintaining an enterprise-level data dictionary by documenting all entities, their relationships and all relevant attributes for all reporting systems designed to support the Special Education Office. Perform complex analysis of data emanating from the SESIS application.Provide expert knowledge of data normalization processes to team members. Provide technical consultation to team members grounded in the understanding of MS SQL/Server capabilities, shortcoming and applicability. Lead data mapping efforts between SESIS and other existing data sources.MANDATORY SKILLS/EXPERIENCE A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and four (4) years of full-time paid experience in the fields of operations management, computer science, mathematics, statistics or a related field; or A satisfactory combination of education and experience. Conceptual, logical and physical data modeling experience. Relational data modeling; Data modeling tools.Advanced SQL development skills: SSIS, SSRS, SSAS. Demonstrated success in building and implementing databases and data marts for operational, analytical and/or dashboard reporting. Ability to work with database administrators, application designers and developers, business analysts and end-users to define the informational needs of the organization.Demonstrated experience in data mapping and data conversion. Comfortable navigating large quantities of data. Strong analytical, conceptual, problem solving and trouble shooting skills.DESIRABLE SKILLS/EXPERIENCE: - Experience in performing data analytics, data modeling and testing activities in a large data project. Demonstrated experience in building service-oriented relationships and providing successful consultative support. Technical writing skills
