Duration: 2 years+ (multi-years project)

Location: Brooklyn, NY (Onsite work - couple of days/week; eventually it's going to be fully onsite) This multi-year project involves SESIS Upgrade, On-going Business System Strategy & Enhancements & Training, Encounter Attendance/Provider Assignment (EA/PA), Change Management and Case Management. Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a flexible multidimensional special education data mart for use in regulatory, operational, management and analytical reporting.
  • Analyzes the business requirements of the user community and then clearly defines the strategic data requirements for the division and designs the appropriate conceptual, logical and physical data models required to support Client's diverse reporting needs.
  • Design and develop Information Architecture, information models and flows, data dictionaries, data standards, and data quality standards and processes.
  • Develop architecture diagrams and visual depiction of architecture, functional and process views using modeling tools such as Visio, Erwin, etc.
  • Build, manage, and maintain reference model of data such as metadata, master data, data dictionaries, and data lineage.
  • Extract, Transact and Load data from multiple sources into Client's data mart.
  • Design, develop and implement databases and data marts that will be used to feed business intelligence dashboards on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.
  • Liaise with the all other data management groups within Client's system to ensure that there is consistency with existing systems and that minimum reporting standards are met.
  • Actively participate in working sessions to help define system requirements pertaining to the design and building phases for all data related systems.
  • Maintain an enterprise-level data dictionary by documenting all entities, their relationships and all relevant attributes for all reporting systems designed to support the Special Education Office.
  • Program data queries, perform data transformations, load jobs, and data extracts using SQL and stored procedures in MS SQL Server.
  • Participate in database programming and data extraction, transformation and loading of data into consolidated data marts that will be used for MIS reporting, operational dashboards, analytical modeling, and custom reporting applications.
  • Actively participate in working sessions to help define system requirements pertaining to the design and building phases for all data related systems.
  • Document business requirements associated with all data integration projects.
  • Lead activities around the functional design, architectural design, test case design, and system testing to ensure all client requirements are met.
  • Perform complex analysis of data emanating from multiple source systems used to support special education reporting.
  • Defines strategies and standards for Business Data Integration.
  • Provide expert knowledge of data normalization processes to team members.
  • Provide technical consultation to team members grounded in the understanding of MS SQL/ Server capabilities, shortcoming and applicability.
  • Lead data mapping efforts between SESIS and other existing data sources.
  • Develop business intelligence and analytical environment.
  • Leads the development, deployment, and maintenance of BI interfaces shared with leadership and support structures.
  • Work collaboratively across the organization to develop business requirements for BI interfaces.
  • Create and implement the data models and database designs required for data integration into BI interfaces used for decision making.
  • Translate business requirements into technical requirements for integration into BI Interfaces.
  • Lead BI software development, deployment, and maintenance.
  • Develop reporting, BI and analytical cubes/models used for integration in BI interfaces.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation for BI tools.

Required Skills/ Experience:

  • Must have worked on various types of systems as a Data Architect
  • Must have solid experience to design and develop Information Architecture, information models and flows, data dictionaries, data standards, and data quality standards and processes.
  • Experience sourcing and building data structures as well as ETL processing.
  • Must have solid experience in MS SQL/ Server to mentor and lead the team.
  • Experience in data mapping between SESIS and other sources.
  • Experienced in BI interface (query tools, data visualization and interactive dashboards, ad hoc reporting, and data modeling tools to support the division with regulatory, operational, analytical and management reporting for users with disabilities).
  • Solid experience in SQL Server, Application Lifecycle Management systems, JIRA, Power BI, MS SQL
