Position

: Senior Project Manager

Location: Albany, NY - Onsite

Duration: 36 Months

Job Type: W2 Contract

Overview: Perform the full range of

Project Manager duties across a variety of projects for IT Operations and Administration as assigned, including IT infrastructure projects such as Disaster Recovery/Back-up and Recovery/Firewall Projects, as well as software application development and enhancements.

Duties:
  • Create long- and short-term plans, including setting targets for milestones and adhering to deadlines.
  • Guide tasks on the project to employees best positioned to complete them.
  • Make effective decisions when presented with multiple options for how to progress with the project.
  • Serve as a point of contact to manage multiple stakeholder teams and vendors assigned to the project to ensure team actions remain in synergy.
  • Communicate with executives or the board to keep the project aligned with their goals.
  • Perform quality control on the project throughout development to maintain the standards expected.
  • Adjust schedules and targets on the project as needs or financing for the project change.
  • Prepare and manages Project Management Plans and schedules.
  • Track project performance (scope, schedule, risks, and issues).
  • Work closely with the PMO director, program staff, vendors, and other stakeholders to define a successful and sustainable PMO requirements.
  • Elicit, analyze, communicate, and validate business processes.
  • Analyze and research impacts to rolling out new business process changes.
  • Develop and document internal training as it relates to PMO services.
  • Leverage agency software to assist in the management of project’s SDLC.

Mandatory Skills:
  • Plans, organizes and integrates cross-functional information technology
  • projects that are significant in scope and impact.
  • Candidate is able to provide guidance to large teams and/or
  • has extensive industry experience and is considered at the top of his/her field.
  • 7 years of project management experience overseeing IT infrastructure and/or application development projects.
  • 3 years of experience in managing projects through three (3) or more phases.
  • 3 years of experience managing three (3) or more vendor project teams
  • 3 years of experience engaging with senior executives to report on project efforts or discuss project requirements and priorities.
  • 3 years of experience working with a defect remediation system and working with Quality Assurance teams to identify and remediate defects.
  • 3 years of experience in project stakeholder management.
  • Bachelor’s Degree
