We have an opportunity for you!Volt has an exciting opportunity with one of the Largest Commercial Health Insurer'sJob Description:This position is responsible for researching and analyzing the medical records when there is a discrepancy in coding; validating the coding and supporting the department in the reporting of findings. This position audits medical records to ensure compliance with the organization's coding procedures and standards according to the CMS Coding Guidelines and Official ICD9/ICD10 Coding Guidelines. Reviews insurance payments and denials and recommends coding corrections.This position is responsible for the accurate coding of medical records according to current ICD 9/10 guidelines as well as reporting to leadership on various coding metrics. Research and analyze the medical records when there is a discrepancy in coding; validate the coding and supporting the department in the reporting of findings. Audit medical records to ensure compliance with the organizations coding procedures and standards according to government regulations. Review insurance payments and denials and recommends coding corrections.JOB REQUIREMENTS Associate Degree OR 2 years of experience working in the health insurance industry; 2 years medical coding through medical record abstraction; National coding certification from AAPC or AHIMA to include one or more of the following:Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Certified Coding Specialist Physician (CCS P), Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), or Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT); PC experience and skills to include Microsoft Word, Excel and Lotus Notes; Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills; Analytical skills.PREFERRED JOB REQUIREMENTS Associate or Bachelor degree; Knowledge of risk adjustment, preferably in the commercial setting; Experience working with the Affordable Care Act; Experience working with Medicare Advantage.
