What You Will DoThe Operational Readiness organization within the Weapons Production Directorate at Los Alamos National Laboratory (TRIAD) is looking for an exceptional Controlled Storage Custodian to join the Supply Chain Management Group (ORI-3). You will work in a controlled storage warehouse operation and comply with all requirements according to Controlled Storage Procedures P330-11, 12, and 13. Warehousing duties shall include, but not limited to, operating forklift trucks and various material handling equipment. Accurately capture and enter all inventory transactions in a timely manner into the appropriate inventory management system(s). Perform detailed check and verification of all materials. Ensures item traceability is established by proper labeling to include verification of pedigree documents and upload into the records management system. Perform all essential warehouse functions such as receiving, put away, picking, and issue of materials. Conduct physical inventory and cycle counts. Provide Just-in-Time (JIT) logistics support such as transport and delivery of material between warehouse and/or customer sites. Utilizes critical thinking and problem solving skills. Maintain a safe and clean work environment by keeping general warehouse, dock, and workstation areas neat and free of debris. Comply with all applicable procedures, rules, and regulations; work cohesively in a team environment; provide high level of attention to detail; and exhibit strong organizational skills. Other duties as assigned.What You NeedMinimum Job Requirements:Computing/Business SystemsAbove average computer skills and demonstrated proficient experience with Inventory Control, Material Tracking systems, and proficient in various software suites, including but not limited to, Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and Access.Customer ServiceExceptional customer service skills and the ability to provide clear, concise support and guidance to others in sometimes-stressful situations. Experience interacting professionally with all types of personnel, including external interfaces and executive management.CommunicationDemonstrated experience and excellence in interacting and communicating both written and orally with customers in a customer service-related setting. A bility to communicate findings and make recommendations.Demonstrated ability proactively assisting others in achieving the organization’s objectives.Organizational SkillsPossess high attention to detail including excellent organizational skills, analytical thinking, observational skills and problem solving skills all to include high accuracy. Proven ability to multi-task and adjust to the workings of a dynamic and cohesive fast-paced team environment.Education/ExperiencePosition requires an Associates degree and 3 years of related experience ; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation.Desired Qualifications:Active DOE Q clearance.

Ability to obtain a forklift license.

While the posted salary range for this position is broad, it is highly unusual for selected applicants to be hired at the top end of the range and more common for selected candidates to grow into the full salary band over time.
