What You Will DoThis position will be filled at either the Engineering Technologist 2/3 level, depending on the skills of the selected candidate. Production Agency Quality ensures that all products in the Weapons Production Directorate meet or exceed all quality requirements.Engineering Technologist 2 ($85,400 - $139,600)You will lead user performed calibrations of CMMs and related equipment in support of quality engineering in Detonator Production Quality Engineering and Inspection, TA-22 (PAQ-3). You will contribute to inspection engineering activities and operations in support of quality engineering. This will include assisting in the completion of milestones on multiple projects and programmatic objectives related to inspection development and design as well as quality evidence capture.Engineering Technologist 3 (94,100 – $155,700)In addition to the above duties, you will be expected to develop robust inspection processes; to develop Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) fixtures and programs to meet quality control standards and make suggestions with regard to procedures, standards and equipment to facilitate work and maintain product quality. You may also be expected to apply knowledge of 3-D design and modeling capabilities. We are building a world class inspection team and are looking for motivated, knowledgeable individuals with high level programming and inspection skills.What You NeedMinimum Job Requirements:CMM Capabilities: Experience with optical/multisensor CMMs. Knowledge and experience with CMM programming and operation for parts with complex features and tight tolerances. Preference for experience using Calypso and Optical CMMs.Inspection Design: Knowledge of and demonstrated experience in using and interpreting engineering blueprints, sketches, specifications, and related data to assist in inspection development.Quality Standards: Broad knowledge of industry and regulatory standards.Leadership skills: Proven ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently with no supervision and when delegated, may direct work of others. Knowledge of and experience in designing, planning, and executing projects associated with inspection (e.g. coordinate measuring machines, laser interferometers, optical measurement techniques, and open setup techniques).In addition to having expert knowledge of the Engineering Technologist 2 requirements, the Engineering Technologist 3 must have the following:Measurement and Testing Systems: Advanced technical knowledge and ability to provide technical leadership on measurement and testing systems (e.g. coordinate measuring machines, laser interferometers, optical measurement techniques, and open setup techniques).Metrology Capability: Expert knowledge of and demonstrated experience in metrology and inspections operations.Education/Experience for Engineering Technologist 2:Position requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering Technology, Science, Math or related degree and 5 years of directly related experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation.Education/Experience for Engineering Technologist 3:Position requires a Bachelor’ Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology Science, Math or related degree from an accredited institution and 8 years of directly related experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation.Desired Qualifications:Manufacturing Experience: Knowledge of and experience in designing, planning, and executing projects associated with manufacturing. Industrial manufacturing experience with high volume product output preferred.Software: Working knowledge of various software packages such as Quindos, Calypso, or PC-DMIS; PTC CREO; or Solidworks.Equipment: Demonstrated experience using Coordinate Measuring Machines.
