Description Robert Half is searching for a gifted Accounting Clerk for an esteemed organization. In this position as an Accounting Clerk, you will be responsible for matching invoices to purchase orders and/or vouchers, data entry and assisting in the process of Accounts Payable (A/P) and Accounts Receivable (A/R). This is a long-term contract / temporary to hire employment opportunity based in the Carlsbad, NM area.What you get to do every dayAssemble documents that require knowledge in determining proper classification of accounting codes and expenditure codes

Work with Accounts Payable: vendor invoices and disbursement filing, A/P invoice matching & filing

Settle discrepancies by checking all possible sources of disagreement, reconstructing probable actions, and recognizing the effect on other accounts; prepare correction documents as required

Upload financial information to journals and ledgers

Standard accounting: help with G/L account reconciliation and month-end closing, other ad hoc projects

Put together statements and reports that require utilization of a variety of sources

Assist Accounts Receivable: process daily invoices/credit, apply cash receipt, and help with collection of past due balance

Requirements

Outstanding data entry skills

Proficiency in cash applications

Cash applications experience required

Solid understanding of Cash Activity

Assist Visitors experience

Assist Visitors experience preferred

Ability to handle multiple tasks to prioritize needs and expedite tasks upon request

AA or BS/BA in Accounting or related field preferred

Skilled in Spreadsheet and ERP system
