Job Description

  • In conjunction with the business strategy as agreed with the General Manager, lead, manage and develop the Industrial Services Regulatory business to ensure key objectives are achieved. Develop and implement long range strategies and business plans for the Regulatory business.
  • Overall responsibility for the implementation of the OI Management System and sustainable development activities within operational processes
  • Ensures all members of their management team implements and maintains the OI system in their areas of responsibility
  • Provide Leadership in the company’s planning activities and support the company’sbusiness through involvement and participation in the Senior Leadership Team
  • Translate business strategy into pragmatic action plans and execute
  • Draft, negotiate and secure contracts for local and international clients
  • Identify and promote future business leaders
  • Operate to the highest standards of ethics, in accordance with the SGS Code of Integrity
  • Lead, coach and develop a business oriented team
  • Develop relationships at senior level within government and commercial enterprises
  • Motivate and lead a team of professionally qualified Engineering staff and through coaching, mentoring and performance management
  • Work with Human Resources to implement and manage succession planning throughout the sector business
  • Communicate and demonstrate progress on company initiatives and plans at functional meetings to foster each individuals involvement and ownership

Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualifications from a recognized tertiary institute in business management and / or engineering or a related field
  • 5 - 10 years operational / management experience in a commercial setting
  • Must demonstrate a high level of leadership and accountability
  • Proven effective relationship building skills
  • Technical knowledge and experience in a related field and in using management methods and tools
  • Able to work independently and to coordinate several activities simultaneously
  • Business and profit minded with related technical knowhow
  • Competitive and profit-driven; re-invents competitive advantage
  • Proven effective communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence at all levels, both internally and externally
  • Able to coordinate, lead and motivate a team of technical professionals and support staff towards a common goal to ensure business growth targets and performance objectives set for the business are achieved
  • Must be confident and able to prepare timely and accurate reports, budgets and forecasts as required for affiliate management, area management and the business group
  • Able to develop, influence and exploit relationships with Regional Area Management and Corporate in order to obtain assistance and support for business growth in New Zealand
