Job Description

Furtheryour career in the electrical distribution field with an industry leader. As a Summit Business Systems Analyst, you will play a critical role as we expand and optimize our applications portfolio. You will work with relevant associates to define problems, document business processes, and scope project requirements. You will collaborate with Summit’s technical resources to develop and deliver innovative business solutions. You will assist in troubleshooting, testing and supporting of Summit’s application portfolio. You will work to enhance the alignment between business process and Information Technology through your ability to understand of Summit’s business requirements and our technology solutions. Principal Accountabilities:

  • Resolve day-to-day technology needs of the business with a focus on the analysis of process problems and the suggestion solutions
  • Responsible for review, analysis, documentation, and communication of business needs
  • Propose solutions meet business requirements
  • Identify processes for improvement by analyzing processes, documenting gaps between current and desired state; recommendation on new solutions
  • Collaborate with internal customers, functional and development team members, as well as other stakeholders to identify user requirements, assess available technologies, and recommend solution options; advise on options, risks, costs versus benefits, and impact
  • Troubleshoot and diagnosis as problems arise to help identify and correct root cause issues
  • Exhibit solid understanding and working technical knowledge of applications within Summit’s portfolio
  • Promote good business relationships; prioritize work, and coordinate activities with internal customers and IT colleagues to ensure successful project implementation and meet expected service levels
  • Maintain and document knowledge of business-specific technology implementations
  • Test system changes related to assigned business processes to ensure the changes adequately satisfy business requirements with no negative impact

Qualifications

Essential Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Business or equivalent
  • 5+ years of business experience
  • Experience with SAP and other enterprise-level ERP systems
  • Demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment and with internal customers
  • Problem Solver
  • Ability to manage small to medium size projects
  • Strong PC skills

Beneficial Skills and Experience:

  • Understanding of SAP ABAP programming
  • User experience in an Accounting/Experience in the Wholesale Distribution industry
  • ITIL Foundations or higher certification
