Description

This is a contract to hire-FTE opportunity based in Albuquerque, New Mexico or Dallas or Houston, Texas.

The Network Administrator-Engineer will organize and coordinate installation, deployment and upgrade of software, hardware and network facilities. Troubleshoot and restore service by analyzing, identifying, isolating, testing and diagnosing faults and symptoms. Responsible for the design, implementation, and support of Cisco switch and router-based local and wide area network, wireless, and cable infrastructure. The Network Administrator will manage network projects, provides escalation support of all network incidents and service requests, and provides backup support for Client Services, Application Hosting, Communications, and Infrastructure services.

Essential Job Functions:

Design, implement, and maintain wireless, local and wide area data network systems to facilitate cost efficient, secure, and reliable communications throughout the company and with outside service providers;

Create and maintains network documentation, including standards, processes, security, topology, and inventory, to ensure high quality service and support on an ongoing basis;

Organize and coordinate activities associated with installation and deployment of software, hardware and network facilities;

Coordinate and implement upgrade network hardware and software;

Proficiency Cisco security firewalls, switches, and routers as well as Silverpeak WAN solutions;

Manage and coordinate network related projects;

Define Milestones and Deliverables;

Coordinate activities, changes, resources, communications, and training;

Participate in the creation and implementation of, and the compliance to, department process, policy, and procedures. Follow the standards and processes to maintain stability and uniformity;

Prioritize work efforts, resolve difficult problems, and resolve technical issues;

Provide exceptional customer service. Effectively interact with customers to understand their needs and explain data;

Work with team members and customers in a collaborative fashion, fostering learning and knowledge sharing;

Develop and maintain complete and accurate design and as-built documentation;

Possess Mid-level working knowledge in related technology over multiple disciplines;

Participate in on-call support escalation rotation, Level 2/3 support for the company's data network, to maximize network availability;

Manage vendors in relation to all in scope projects/initiatives;

Perform user move adds and changes;

Provide support and escalations for critical break-fix issues;

Plan, schedule and perform systems maintenance and upgrades;

The successful Network Administration:

Extensive knowledge of Cisco networking switches, routers, and firewalls, WAN optimization, and wireless infrastructure;

Experience with Project management & execution with a proven track record of managing and supporting infrastructure related projects;

experience with Network design;

Minimum of 5+ years of Cisco Routing and Switching experience;

Preferred:

Either a CCNA, CCNP Certification preferred;

ITIL Foundation Certification preferred;

Knowledge and experience with basic LEAN principles;

Prince II Agile Practitioner Certification preferred

VOIP preferred (Cisco collaboration suite)
