ASSOCIATE SCIENTIST SUMMIT, NJ 100% onsite position. Position will be predominately in Summit NJ with potential travel to other sites within commuting distance. Required Skills:

  • Requires relevant scientific or engineering bachelor's degree at minimum, (e.g. chemistry, chemical engineering, or pharmaceutical science), or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience carrying out experiments with lab instrumentation and ability to troubleshoot common hardware and software challenges.
  • Automation related to powder handling experience would be beneficial.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a fast paced, multidisciplinary environment.
  • Ability to be a contributing member on cross functional assignments.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.
  • Strong time management skills and ability to navigate multiple assignments in parallel.
Project Description:
  • This position is responsible for supporting drug product development via the development and application of engineering technologies (e.g., material profiling, process analytical technologies and automation).
  • Member of a dynamic scientifically driven team dedicated to the development and optimization of robust manufacturing processes for drug products.
  • Utilize appropriate research tools, instrumentation, technologies, and methodologies to support efficient and effective drug product process development.
  • Apply material characterization to evaluate the composition, structure, and properties of pharmaceutical systems. Perform data analysis and interpretation.
  • Apply fundamental engineering principles to characterize and solve process challenges across multiple unit operations, utilizing both experimental and process simulation/modeling approaches.
  • Perform laboratory experiments with analytical instrumentation, data analysis and interpretation, and document in electronic laboratory notebook or report.
  • Provide support for innovative process analytical technology (PAT) for drug product formulation and process understanding.
  • Maintain a productive laboratory workspace, which includes managing workflows, processes and systems for the lab, maintaining / troubleshooting equipment, and providing recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Follow safety, regulatory, and compliance standards as they relate to the development of pharmaceuticals.
  • Collaborate with formulation and process development teams to provide critical data needed to commercialize new products and new technologies, and to optimize or enhance existing products or processes.
