Director IT Engineering - SaaS Commerce - Opportunity for Working Remotely

The Elevator Pitch: Why will you enjoy this new opportunity?VMware Commerce Engineering team is building an industry leading SaaS commerce platform at cloud scale. This platform must be scalable, highly available, and cater to current and future SaaS product go to market strategies. The incoming person will be responsible for leading the team of engineering managers, engineers, and product managers to build this world-class commerce services.Success in the Role: What are the performance goals over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing?You can communicate and partner with product and program management teams

You track and oversee the architecture and quality of deliverables from your engineering teams

10+ years of experience working directly with engineering teams

Experience in partnering with product and program management teams

5+ years of people management experience, managing frontline managers and engineers

Experience with agile software methodologies.

Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical individuals.

Experience running and maintaining a large scale, 24x7 service-oriented production environment, preferably across multiple data centers.

Experience with CNCF projects such as Kubernetes, Pivotal, Prometheus, etc.

Knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for the software life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, control management, build processes, testing, and operations

What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis?As a leader in Engineering,You will partner with Product Managers, Engineering Managers, and architects from multiple global teams to deliver the next generation capabilities for the SaaS Commerce Platform

You will own one or more key business domains and ensure production readiness of the scalable business models for SaaS & Entitlement management life cycle

Manage headcount, budget, hiring, onboarding

Build and enable your team to build and deliver high quality products

Coach managers, senior engineers, and product managers

Lead a team of 25+ engineers and managers towards building and delivering the cloud commerce related capabilities

Act as the delivery lead at the program level interlocking with multiple engineering leads

He leads innovation, solutioning and delivery for the one or more of Back office and/or corporate systems portfolio including end-to-end quality assurance and UAT functions.
