The Regional Manager (“RM”) / External Wholesaler is responsible for proactively engaging Financial Advisors within a defined geographic territory in an effort to enrich existing relationships, identify cross-selling opportunities, and originate new producers. This individual is also responsible for understanding and assessing market conditions in an effort to provide the highest level of investment expertise to our clients.
Generate all sales in his/her assigned territory by serving as a proactive relationship manager for assigned accounts
Partner with financial advisors to promote the sale and marketing of Lord, Abbett & Co. mutual funds and products to their clients
Articulate a deep knowledge of mutual funds, separately managed accounts, and retirement products
Deliver seminars/presentations on a regular basis to financial advisors and the general public
Coordinate marketing and sales support services for assigned accounts to enhance existing relationships and develop new ones
Demonstrate a deep understanding of all Lord Abbett Market & Product Opportunity Presentations (MPOs)
Understand current market conditions and the potential impact on our investment products
3-5+ years prior sales experience, preferably in financial services. Mutual fund sales experience a plus
Series 7 and 66 licenses
Knowledge of securities markets and current market conditions
Strong interpersonal, communication skills (written and verbal), and follow-up skills
Proactive, collaborative team player
High sense of urgency, and high degree of initiative and self-motivation
Exceptional organization and time management skills
Resourceful with excellent problem-solving skills
