Job Description

Accounts Payable Specialist

As an

Accounts Payable Specialist, you will be responsible for maintaining the accounts payable subsidiary ledger by posting invoices using a voucher entry system, and assisting with preparing a computer generated check run on a weekly basis. In addition, this position will assist the Controller with the reconciliation of the A/P Ledger and the Open A/P Report.

Responsibilities:

  • Receive and process invoices and check requests for entry into the accounts payable system
  • Other
    • Resolve discrepancies and inquiries with vendors
    • Assist in generating weekly A/P reports
    • Assist annually in preparing the 1099 MISC reports with the Controller
    • Special projects and tasks as may be necessary to support management decision making
    • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business and/or 1-2 years of experience in accounts payable or a similar role
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to deal with vendors in a polite and professional manner
  • Excellent data entry skills with a high degree of accuracy
  • Working knowledge in Excel and Microsoft Word
  • Demonstrate organizational skills and numerical aptitude
