Position Summary:

Under the direction of the VP Global Engineering & EHS, the Project Engineer II will be responsible for simultaneously managing multiple small to medium size capital projects from evaluation through implementation stages. Project workload can vary with regulatory and environmental priorities. The Project Engineer II is responsible for all aspects of approved project execution, including detail technical design, issuing technical specifications and for following standard project management techniques, managing vendors, contract engineers, and contractors for constructions, remodeling and equipment fabrication and installation. The Project Engineer II is responsible for system FAT, commissioning and ramp up as well as transition to operations/maintenance (IQ, OQ, PQ) including documentation, training, spare parts and conducting post project review to measure results and document learnings.

Job Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

• Works with Plants, R&D, IT, Quality, ESO, etc. to successfully manage / execute capital projects; • Interact closely with R&D process development and manufacturing facilities to facilitate the transition from pilot plant to full-scale operation in the most economical and efficient manner; • Direct the planning/preparation of individual capital projects and manage these projects from design and thru construction; • Provides oversight of scope, budget, schedule, safety and environmental for capital projects; • Demonstrated leadership, planning, organizing and communication skills; • Experience managing multiple projects from the evaluation phase through implementation stages; • Ability to follow up and prioritize project issues independently and juggle multiple projects with minimal supervision; • Demonstrated ability to identify, troubleshoot, and solve technical problems; • Must have solid written and verbal communication skills; • Prepare preliminary design, flow sheets, equipment lists, layouts, estimates and operating costs for proposed projects to allow feasibility evaluation by upper management on a timely basis; • When capital projects require the assistance of outside engineering, contractors, vendors, etc. work with the C&D Purchasing Dept. to conduct the evaluation of several competitors utilizing investigative techniques, bid system, and industry knowledge to select the successful bidder; • Responsible for coordinating the transmissions of C&D operating and processing technology to its contractors, vendors, etc. to insure timely and accurate completion of their work; • Ensure that C&D standards, State codes, Federal laws and agency regulations such as OSHA and EPA are met for all capital projects managed by Corporate Engineering; • Follow Capital Expenditure Request procedures identified in C&D CER Policy; • Travel will be approximately 30%, but may be higher during specific project phases (i.e. FAT, Startup, Construction)

Education and Experience Capabilities: (MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS)

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Chemical, Industrial, Mechanical); • Minimum seven (7) years of experience in a manufacturing environment preferably chemical, consumer packaged goods, or related industry. (Will consider a candidate with less experience if exceptional in other ways (i.e. relevant internships and academic achievements); • Minimum five (5) years of project management and financial budgeting including developing justification, scoping and managing capital projects to budgets and schedule; • Experience leading small and medium size project teams; • Proficient in Excel, Power Point, MS Project, Word, AutoCAD • Working knowledge of EPA and OSHA regulations both at federal and state levels; • Working knowledge of plant control systems (i.e. Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Rockwell Automation, Wonderware, Active Factory) a plus; • Ability to read, interpret, and prepare process flow diagrams (PFD's) and process instrumentation diagrams (PID's); • Knowledge of cGMP requirements and design; • Experience with liquid processing, facilities, and packaging equipment
