St. Joseph Residence is a 22-bed facility providing care to the Presentation of Mary Sisters in a warm and supportive atmosphere where residents are attended to according to their individual needs. We are proud to be a managed home of Catholic Charities New Hampshire’s continuum of care.

We currently have a full-time (37.5 hours/week) Housekeeper position open in our Environmental Services Department. The position is 7:30am-3:00pm, 5 days per week to include every third weekend rotation( 4 hours on Saturday and 4 hours on Sunday, with a day off the week prior).

Duties

Perform day-to-day housekeeping functions and specific tasks in accordance with daily work assignments and established policies and procedures.

Assure that the facility is maintained in a clean, safe, and comfortable manner and that our residents and their personal belongings are handled with respect and care. Maintain confidentiality of all resident related care information to assure residents rights are protected.

Coordinate daily housekeeping services with nursing staff when performing daily and routine assignments in resident areas.

Clean/polish furnishings, fixtures, ledges, room heating/cooling units, etc., in resident rooms, recreational areas, etc., using proper cleaning/ disinfecting solutions.

Perform proper cleaning procedures when a resident is discharged and/or transferred to another room/area as well as clean any vacant rooms as directed.

Discard waste/trash into proper containers and reline trash receptacle daily in accordance with our established sanitation procedures.

Assure that an adequate supply of housekeeping supplies are maintained in utility/janitorial closets and keep supervisor informed of supply needs.

Assure that work/assignment areas are clean and that equipment, tools, and supplies are properly stored at all times.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED.

Ability to communicate effectively and be dependable

Must be able to read, write, and speak English in an understandable manner.

Must be able to follow oral and written instructions.

Must have patience, tact, and a cheerful disposition.

Must be able to relate to the residents and staff of the facility.
