Asset Mgmt Specialist, Principal (Hybrid)

Job DescriptionThe Asset Management team manages the assets of BAE Systems from the initial request for capital to inventory and management of the assets through disposition. The team is responsible for over 26,000 assets across all locations in the ES Sector. Our team provides guidance to ES sector personnel when determining if an item is capital versus expense and serves as the point of contact for all questions regarding BAE owned capital assets.The Asset Mgmt Specialist is a key member of the team responsible for:

Review and processing requests for capital expenditures ensuring compliance with Security, DFARS, IT, SHE, Metrology, Procurement, Budget, Capitalization and Tagging requirements

Review and approval of CIP and Facilities project requests

Capitalizing assets on a monthly basis

Maintaining auditable records for capital approvals

Preparing recurring monthly and quarterly reports (ie. Capital status, Supplementals, Cash lockup)

POC for all audit requests (DCAA, Internal Audit, Deloitte, etc): coordinate data collection and respond within strict time constraints

Preparing and presenting quarterly Asset Management training to key stakeholders

Identifying and implementing process improvements to streamline processes

Serves as a lead on the Asset Mgmt team providing guidance to other team members

Pursuant to a specific U.S. Government contract, selected individual must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident.Required Education, Experience, & Skills

Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance and 6 years work experience or equivalent experience

Advanced Excel and Powerpoint skills

Strong interpersonal skills

Experience communicating and presenting financial data in a concise understandable manner

Ability to develop solutions to complex problems using ingenuity and innovation

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

Experience with fixed asset accounting

Willingness to question status quo; willing to embrace & implement change where it seems appropriate.
