Title: Design DrafterStart Date: 08/16/2021End Date: 12/31/2021Location: Manchester, NH 03101Description:Performs detailed design drafting associated with the construction of or modifications to CLIENT facilities.Essential Functions:•Develops new drawings and revises existing drawings using conventional or computer-aided techniques from sketches, standards, notes, verbal instruction and other drawings. For definition of drawing types refer to design applications areas included in this description.•Develops bills of materials.•Verifies the "as-built" condition of system facilities.•Develops and assists in developing work sketches for approval.•Takes field notes and measurements and makes sketches as necessary in support of new assignments.•Checks drawings of other less experienced personnel for completeness and accuracy.•Coordinates drafting effort with other drafting disciplines.•Develops and updates indices, lists, and schedules as necessary.•Identifies and retrieves required drawings associated with specific assignments from the appropriate document control system.•Assists in training of lower level drafters.Technical Knowledge/Skill/Education/Licenses/Certifications:Technical Knowledge/Skills:•Proven and accomplished drafting techniques and skills required to produce detailed drawings.•Detailed knowledge of industry accepted drafting standards, techniques and practices.•General knowledge of (a) electrical systems and components or (b) mechanical systems and components or (c) civil, structural, and architectural structures and components.•Ability to learn and apply computer-aided techniques for the generation of design drawings.•Ability to apply departmental drafting standards, procedures and practices associated with the more complex assignments.•Ability to effectively communicate ideas and directions to lower level personnel.•Knowledge of the latest applicable industry codes and standards.•This includes regulatory and quality assurance requirements unique to nuclear generating facilities (Generation Engineering Design sections only).•General knowledge of basic algebra, geometry, and trigonometry.•Knowledge of and ability to assess reproduction alternatives.Education/ Experience:•High school diploma or equivalent with specialization in draftingExperience:•Five to six years of directly related drafting experience•Must be proficient in Autocad (Version 2015+)•Ability to learn Adept Drawing Management Software•Experience with Inventor 3D Design software preferred.•Work will be specific to Substation Design (Electrical Substation & Civil Substation) Support
