Experience

Experience as an Armed Security Officer in a casino environment preferred. One+ years experience in security/surveillance. Excellent oral communication skills required. Positive interpersonal skills required. Must speak English fluently and be able to write in basic English.

Job Description Overview

The Armed Security Officer will be responsible to respond to unusual or emergency situations using the appropriate escalation of force level up to and including armed response by following established protocol.; Maintains proficiency in the use of all assigned protective equipment, restraint devices and weapons; Controls access through the admittance process; precludes unauthorized access to the casino, and the conversion, theft or intentional destruction of physical assets; Observes and reports activities and incidents, providing for the security and safety of the property, customers and personnel; Makes periodic tours to check for irregularities and to inspect protection devices and fire control equipment; Preserves order and acts to enforce regulations and directives pertaining to personnel, customers, and premises; Monitors entrances and exits; acts to prevent unapproved or unlawful entry; controls entrances, the movement of people and vehicles, and parking; Patrols on foot or in vehicle; checks for unsafe conditions, hazards, unlocked doors, security violations; Observes and reports incidents or suspicious activity to the General Manager and Chief of Security and/or company management; Write comprehensive reports outlining what they observed while on patrol; Interview witnesses; Detain criminal violators in an efficient, courteous and professional manner while displaying a high standard of guest services. Act as a First Responder in emergency situations; Perform gaming drops/transactions, including carrying drop boxes and chip carriers; Performs all other duties as assigned. At all times, Armed Security Officers are expected to be attentive to our guest needs and making them feel welcome, comfortable, important and relaxed by using the FISH Philosophy and Gold Key Standards.

Key Areas of Responsibility

Responsible for prompt, efficient and courteous food and beverage service to casino guests, both internal and external in accordance with Poker Palace Casino policies, procedures and standards. Walks all areas of the casino to greet guests and handle issues that may arise; Escorts other employees as necessary; Operates a two-way radio to communicate with the Control Room and other Security personnel; Resolves complaints and issues involving both guests and employees; Monitors access to restricted areas; Provides assistance to disabled/impaired people including those in wheelchairs; Monitor the Television (CCTV) / digital recording programs and observation of the casino; Operates company owned truck to respond to incidents and maintain security on and off property; Provides cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR); Uses computer to complete reports regarding property incidents such as guest accidents, personal property damage, vehicle accidents, theft, and guest complaints. Ability to add and subtract two digits numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a Armed Security Officer to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the Armed Security Officer is required to speak and hear; Close and distance vision; Identify and distinguish colors; Frequent walking with some standing at times; Will walk for long periods of time, possibly extended distances; Frequently lifts/carries up to 25 lbs; Occasionally lifts/carries up to 50 lbs; Continual use of manual dexterity and gross motor skills with frequent use of bi-manual dexterity and fine motor skills. Requires carrying authorized weapons and ammunition, the use of protective gear and devices, and awareness of personal safety and safety of others. Required to utilize rapid and effective judgment in responding to unusual or emergency situations using appropriate escalation of force level.
