Position Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate communication and activities between the sales team, local & regional field resources and the Pre-Sales & Engineering department.
  • Be the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for building and designing drawing packages in CAD tools, specifically around electronic security systems design.
  • Perform customer surveys to collect design data and facility floor plans.
  • Review sub & vendor quotes as needed.
  • Maintain an understanding of drawing requirements as it pertains to obtaining permits.
  • Participate in Job kickoff meetings & ensure a proper handoff from engineering to the delivery organization.
  • Support the CAD team with detailed knowledge of design tools and standards.
  • Manage the Work Queue, ensuring resources are fully utilized across the team.
  • Mentor newer individuals on the team ensuring constant and consistent growth.
  • Manage a CAD training program that ensures members are up to date on new technology and both maintain and grow their knowledge and certifications.
  • Support the overall engineering training program to move individuals into a larger field/application engineering role.
  • Ensure all team members are properly registered, licensed, & certified to perform work in their assigned areas.
  • Other duties as required.
Required Qualifications:

  • 10+ Years' experience in CAD tools.
  • 5+ Years' experience in designing Electronic Security systems Intrusion Detection System (IDS), Access Control System (ACS), CCTV/Video Management System).
  • 2+ Years' experience in managing people & teams.
Preferred Qualifications:

  • College or formal training Highly recommended (May vary based on experience).
  • Ability to mentor & train CAD drafters in designing Electronic Security systems.
  • Expert knowledge of AutoCAD or other drafting tools.
  • Ability to read & interpret electronic security specifications, perform equipment counts (take off's). Identify cable requirements & distances, as well as calculate power load & battery calculations
  • Knowledge of drawings sets and submittals, specifically in the ES field.
  • Expert knowledge of building out floor plans, elevations, riser diagrams, "typicals"; in line with standard construction set drawing packages.
  • Understanding / Certification with UL (681 & 2050) & High Security applications/systems.
  • Working knowledge of Computer Systems & Networking.
  • Working knowledge of door locking hardware.
  • Knowledge of Fire Alarm & Life Safety Code as it applies to drawing requirements.
  • Knowledge of Structured cabling / BICSI Certification.
  • Understanding of NFPA code (Specifically in your assigned area) / NICET Certified
  • Experience working with local AHJ's on permits (Building, Electrical, Fire Prevention, Occupancy, etc.)
  • A valid state driver's license, without restrictions, is required for this position.
