Position: Director of DevOps Integrated Practice Solutions, Inc. (dba ChiroTouch), a fast-growing and leading healthcare software company, is looking for a Director of DevOps to join our growing team. In this role, you will build and mentor a diverse team of engineers, manage production application environments in AWS, Azure, and other hosting providers, and drive DevOps projects including the implementation of new tools and technology. You will be a guardian of uptime and performance for production solutions. You will work directly with company executives and participate in big-picture thought leadership. Strong sensibilities for automation, disaster recovery, security and DevOps best practices will make you a perfect fit for this role.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead a team of DevOps Engineers as they build, deploy, maintain and manage production application environments according to DevOps best practices
  • Partner with Engineering and business leaders to continuously deliver value to customers, bringing a maniacal focus on service levels and effective incident response to this effort
  • Oversee the maintenance, monitoring and security of production infrastructure and networks across a portfolio of SaaS products across AWS, Azure and other hosting platforms
  • Working closely with other Engineering leaders, research and recommend enhancements and modifications to improve system performance, efficiency, and reliability, delivering project proposals for new tools or solutions where appropriate
  • Promote a culture of efficiency, predictability, and scalability through automation of manual tasks and codification of infrastructure
  • Promote resource pairing, knowledge sharing, and operational alignment across all product teams
  • Continually assess, manage and remediate risk in application environments, data management and engineering practices
  • Keep systems, customer data and intellectual property secure at all times, complying with the latest security standards as well as federal and state regulatory requirements
  • Tackle complex challenges, unexpected shifts in priority, service impacts, security incidents and legal requests in a timely manner with poise, positivity and persistence
  • Organize and facilitate DevOps scrum and continually seek out process enhancements to drive team clarity, efficiency, productivity and satisfaction, delivering value to stakeholders
  • Recruit, train, mentor and retain a high-performing team
  • Liaise with senior leaders and company executives, providing regular updates including cost management (run rates and cost-per-customer metrics), service level KPIs (e.g. uptime) and incident summaries, and DevOps achievements and priorities

Qualifications:
  • BS or MS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or related area, or equivalent work experience in the field
  • 5+ years of DevOps experience, including demonstrated aptitude with public cloud services, CI/CD in a production environment, and common DevOps tools
  • 3+ years of experience managing Engineering or DevOps teams with a strong background in cloud engineering
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to build, coach, mentor and manage a diverse engineering team, maintaining a high standard of excellence and providing effective thought leadership
  • Demonstrated abilities in people management, strategic planning, risk management, change management, and agile or hybrid project management
  • Strong background in agile methodologies, including experience leading Agile teams and managing a backlog
  • Significant experience in public cloud and virtualization technologies (IaaS and PaaS), specifically AWS and/or Azure, including fluency in cloud terminology and services
  • Experience building/enhancing/managing continuous integration and continuous delivery services (CI/CD)
  • Hands-on experience with scripting and automation (e.g. Pash, Python, PowerShell) as well as automation tooling (e.g. Jenkins, Chef, Puppet, GitLab, Azure DevOps Pipelines)
  • Hands on experience with containerization and orchestration technologies, including Docker and Kubernetes at a minimum
  • Strong sensibilities for availability and disaster recovery, along with an understanding of infrastructure as code (IaC) and incident response in a SaaS environment
  • Experience implementing, tuning, responding to and reporting on system monitoring and performance metrics
  • Experience with database management, queueing and data warehousing (including Microsoft SQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL)
  • A passion for technology & a thirst for knowledge, with an openness to learning new and emerging DevOps and cloud technologies
  • Excellent judgment, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills along with an ability to drive to big picture goals and milestones while valuing and maintaining a strong attention to detail
  • Comfort working in a highly collaborative environment, with receptiveness to feedback and the applied experience of others
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, relationship building skills, and ability to achieve results without direct reporting relationships
  • Experience establishing & maintaining effective relationships with individuals at all levels of the organization
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including experience interacting at the executive level and creating/presenting proposals, project reviews and diagrams
  • Experience managing healthcare data and strong knowledge of HIPAA Privacy and HIPAA Security rules a plus
