Summary: Privacy and security are central to everything we do at Meta. The Privacy & Data Policy team is committed to ensuring that the personal information of our users is safe, secure, and used appropriately. We’re seeking a hard working, self-motivated individual, who thrives in fast-paced environments and can seamlessly drive success bringing together the perspectives of experts outside the company and cross-functional teams working on the hardest privacy problems the company is facing.This role features an emphasis on building and executing stakeholder strategy. This may include developing and driving external events and creating materials to share insights within and outside of the company. This role is highly collaborative and will involve partnering with Policy, Communications and other cross-functional partners. The successful candidate will have a background in privacy, knowledge of the privacy community, and a desire to build partnerships between Meta and external privacy stakeholders. Candidates should be accomplished at building and managing relationships as well as strategic thinking.Required Skills: Privacy & Data Policy Manager, Stakeholder Engagement Responsibilities:Build and maintain strong and trusted relationships with civil society, think tanks, and NGOs on key substantive privacy policy matters
Represent Meta at meetings and conferences with event support, conceptualize and execute events for stakeholder groups
Identify & monitor privacy policy trends of importance for the company
Serve as a resource to other team members in helping them represent privacy experts’ perspectives when analyzing product and policy proposals concerning privacy, data security and related technology issues and build plans for collaboration with the privacy community
Create a strategy to engage with privacy stakeholders in civil society, coordinate with other team members to ensure a consistent approach to stakeholder engagement, and manage engagement planning and process for various stakeholder events
Work with cross-functional teams to develop and articulate the company's positions on key privacy and data protection issues in the form of internal briefing documents, position papers, and related documents
Coordinate with cross-functional teams to create strategies to seek the privacy community's input in key data protection decisions as we're building products, and to educate the community about external launches and announcements
Minimum Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications:Relationships within and a nuanced understanding of the US privacy community
5+ years of experience in privacy and technology policy issues
Knowledge of data protection, privacy legislative and policy issues
Preferred Qualifications: Preferred Qualifications:Experience in providing actionable advice to protect privacy in product development
Experience in civil society, academia, or other stakeholder group
Experience working in a fast-paced environment and to make sound judgments under tight deadlines
