Want to join a diverse team of cyber, data, and IT specialists? We have provided Data science, IT, and Cyber services to the US government since 2016 with a geographically disbursed team. We are seeking a DevOps Engineer with a Secret Clearance for our Charlottesville, VA office.

We are looking for a software engineer interested in making a difference in understanding, designing, and architecting cloud and hybrid-cloud based systems. Using cloud and hybrid-cloud based systems, you will leverage the latest tools and methods to increase the speed to mission of new capabilities and maximize efficient systems using modern software techniques.

Job Details

You will incorporate open source tools and native Cloud resources to develop automation pipelines based on virtual infrastructure to streamline the software development life cycle from development to production. You'll implement continuous integration and deployment in development, testing, and production environments. This is an opportunity to broaden your skillset into areas like DevSecOps, chaos engineering, Cloud-based development and design, containerization, and serverless while developing the foundation for systems that will improve national security.

Successful candidates will demonstrate the following characteristics:

  • Degree in computer science, computer engineering, information assurance, cyber security, or data science
  • Experience with programming languages such as Java, React, Python
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum, XP, Kanban, Lean, Theory of Constraints)
  • Experience with configuration management tools (Git, Mercurial, )
  • Familiarity with Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery concepts and enabling tools such as Jenkins, Maven, and Ansible
  • Familiarity with service based standards such as REST and Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) Web Services (OWS)
  • Testing tools (e.g. Junit, Selenium, jMeter)
  • Code quality tools (e.g. Sonar, Cast)
  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Must be able to obtain a secret clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
  • CompTIA Security+, Network+, CSSLP, or equivalent
  • Active secret clearance
  • Familiarity with the 557th Weather Wing
  • Familiarity with meteorological data formats like METAR, GriB, GriB2, and NetCDF
  • Knowledge of scientific software development techniques, preferably for environmental datasets
