Job Description: Application Support Engineer

100% remote

Education Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field

Primary responsibilities; install, customize, maintain, and troubleshoot vendor-built & in-house built applications for our Non-Production Environments.

Roles and responsibilities:

Install, maintain, and customize vendor-built software that is utilized by development and support teams.
Design and develop in-house built applications and tools that streamline development and support processes.
Implement complex solutions to all known/documented issues
Define and implement new solutions for non-production issues of moderate to high complexity.
Interface with developers, testers, and other non-production stakeholders
Analyze application code logic to determine root causes of complex issues
Define and document software requirement changes necessary to fix root causes of non-production issues
Use of the following:
- Linux - proficient in common Linux commands (RHEL preferred)
- Linux scripting and server administration
- Java - able to understand and read code
- SQL - proficient in developing SQL, preferably Oracle
- Agile / DevOps principles and tools
- Programming languages/frameworks (Java, Spring, Angular, Node.js, etc.)
- Application monitoring & remediation (App Dynamics preferred)
- Grafana
Other beneficial experience
- Java vm
- Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform), Ansible, Puppet
- Splunk - experience developing Splunk dashboards and alerts
